Fairfax Radiology Centers is offering current FRC CT Technologists an opportunity to expand their skills and cross-train into PET/CT imaging through a structured, 8-month training program.
This program is designed for CT Technologists who are interested in advancing their imaging career while continuing to work and earn their regular pay at FRC.
Selected technologists will complete the required didactic education and 1,000 hours of clinical PET/CT training while working alongside our experienced PET/CT team.
How the Program Works
During the 8-month program, you will:
FRC wants to support employees who are ready to grow their careers and expand their imaging expertise.
Upon successful completion of the program and passing your certification boards within the required 8-month timeframe, FRC will reimburse the $1,000 cost of the training program.
That means you can gain a new imaging specialty while continuing to earn your regular pay and building your clinical experience at FRC.

- Continue to be paid while working as a CT Technologist and completing your PET/CT clinical training
- Complete 1,000 required clinical training hours in PET/CT
- Complete the required didactic coursework (on your own time)
- Gain hands-on experience working with our PET/CT team and imaging equipment
- Learn PET/CT imaging protocols, patient preparation, radiopharmaceutical safety, quality standards, and oncology-focused patient care
- Prepare to sit for the applicable PET/CT certification board examination
- Complete all program requirements and successfully pass your boards within 8 months

Who We're Looking For

- Are interested in expanding their career into PET/CT imaging
- Have been working as a CT Tech for FRC for at least one year and are eligible to transfer.
- Meet the eligibility requirements for the PET/CT training and certification pathway
- Are able to commit to completing the didactic coursework and 1,000 clinical hours within 8 months
- Are committed to sitting for and successfully passing the required certification boards within the 8-month program period
- Demonstrate strong patient care, communication, teamwork, and technical skills
- Are motivated to learn a new modality and become part of FRC's PET/CT team
