Patient Environment Assistant to help create a clean, organized, and welcoming experience for every patient, visitor, and team member who walks through our doors.

What You'll Do
As a Patient Environment Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting daily operations by maintaining patient care areas, managing supplies, and helping ensure our facility consistently reflects Fairfax Radiology's commitment to excellence.

Environmental Services (this will take up to 50% of your day's work activities)
  • Perform hourly rounds of patient and public restrooms, including cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking supplies.
  • Maintain dressing rooms by sanitizing high-touch surfaces, organizing spaces, and replenishing patient gowns.
  • Keep patient waiting areas clean and inviting by wiping glass, emptying trash, organizing seating, and maintaining beverage stations.
  • Monitor patient care areas for cleanliness and report maintenance concerns.
  • Refill hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility.
Linen & Supply Management
  • Fold, stock, and organize patient gowns.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs.
  • Organize storage rooms and supply closets.
  • Assist with stocking exam rooms and clinical supplies.
  • Receive and organize deliveries and dispose of packaging materials.
Kitchen & Breakroom Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize staff kitchen and breakroom areas.
  • Load and unload the dishwasher.
  • Maintain refrigerators, countertops, sinks, and cabinets.
  • Order and restock coffee, paper products, and breakroom supplies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Prepare barium bags for patient procedures.
  • Assemble patient goody bags for the PET/CT department.
  • Perform confidential document shredding in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Organize office supplies and distribute materials to departments.
  • Assist with seasonal decorations and employee engagement activities.
  • Support initiatives that enhance the patient experience.

Additional Requirements:
  • Female applicants only - This position regularly works within the women's mammography dressing and examination areas, where patients may be changing clothes or preparing for procedures. To protect patient privacy and dignity, this position requires a female employee and qualifies as a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) under applicable law.
  • Strong communication skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required to effectively interact with patients, visitors, physicians, and team members, as well as to understand written procedures, safety protocols, and departmental documentation.
