Fairfax Corporate Office - Fairfax, VA - Full Time
Manager, IT Hardware & Infrastructure Fairfax, VA | Full-Time
Lead the technology infrastructure that keeps patient care connected across Fairfax Radiology Centers.
At Fairfax Radiology Centers (FRC), technology plays an essential role in nearly every aspect of patient care—from the workstations and diagnostic monitors our radiologists rely on to the networks, servers, communications tools, and hardware that connect our imaging centers.
We are seeking an experienced Manager, IT Hardware & Infrastructure, who combines strong technical expertise with hands-on leadership and a commitment to exceptional customer service. In this role, you’ll lead the team responsible for the hardware and infrastructure that keep FRC’s clinical and business operations connected, reliable, and running smoothly.
This is an opportunity for an IT leader who enjoys both leading people and staying close to the technology—someone who is equally comfortable managing a team and major infrastructure projects, supporting a radiologist with an urgent technology need, evaluating hardware solutions, or helping prepare the IT infrastructure for a new imaging center.
Why You’ll Want to Join FRC
Make an impact on patient care by supporting the technology our physicians and clinical teams depend on every day
Lead our IT hardware and infrastructure function across FRC’s network of imaging centers and offices
Stay hands-on with technology while leading and developing an IT team
Work with healthcare-specific technology, including RIS, PACS, diagnostic monitors, PowerScribe, networking, servers, and related systems
Influence technology decisions by evaluating hardware, infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and replacements
Partner across the organization with radiologists, leadership, operations, Procurement, vendors, and other departments
Support FRC’s continued growth through new imaging centers, construction projects, technology implementations, and infrastructure expansion
What You’ll Do Lead IT Hardware & Infrastructure
Oversee the hardware and infrastructure supporting FRC’s clinical and business operations
Provide support for workstations, diagnostic monitors and any of the hardware that supports our teams. This could include RIS, PACS, PowerScribe, VPN, networking, servers, firewalls, wireless networks, printers, fax systems, physician portals, email, and related systems
Oversee service and support requests for IT hardware needs, ensuring timely assignment, follow-through, and resolution
Support software installations and upgrades to ensure successful implementation and integration while minimizing disruption to operations
Help maintain the reliability and security of systems used to store and communicate protected health information in accordance with HIPAA and other applicable requirements
Support the communication technologies used throughout the organization, including telephone systems, network connectivity, email, websites, fax systems, and messaging applications
Lead & Develop the IT Team
Recruit, train, supervise, and provide ongoing direction to assigned IT staff
Establish priorities and delegate service requests, projects, and assignments
Provide performance feedback, annual evaluations, coaching, and performance management
Manage time and attendance for assigned team members
Foster a responsive, accountable, and customer-focused IT support environment
Communicate department activities, priorities, and urgent issues to the Chief Information Officer
Support Our Radiologists & Teams
Provide direct technology support to FRC radiologists when needed
Ensure effective IT support across a geographically diverse network of imaging centers and offices
Troubleshoot and help resolve urgent hardware, connectivity, and infrastructure issues
Travel to FRC locations as needed to provide on-site support and guidance
Communicate technology updates and issues clearly to internal partners and stakeholders
Participate in after-hours on-call support
Drive Projects & Continuous Improvement
Participate in technology projects, project management, and change-control processes
Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to evaluate IT service and performance
Track project progress and provide appropriate reporting and updates
Identify trends and opportunities to improve technology, workflows, service, and organizational performance
Stay current on developments in healthcare, radiology, office, and infrastructure technology and recommend appropriate upgrades or replacements
Contribute to IT policies, procedures, operational reporting, strategic planning, and continuous quality improvement
Manage Technology Resources
Coordinate hardware selection and support with internal partners and vendors
Partner with Procurement to evaluate solutions and negotiate competitive hardware pricing
Participate in departmental and organizational budgeting
Review and approve IT hardware-related invoices
Support construction and renovation projects, providing guidance for cabling, PCs, printers, phones, networking, and other IT infrastructure needs
