Patient Account Representative – Insurance Claims | Fairfax, VA | Weekdays Only
Fairfax Radiology Centers — the largest radiology practice in Northern Virginia — is seeking a Patient Account Representative to join our Revenue Cycle team.
In this role, you’ll manage insurance claims processing, payer follow-up, and denial resolution to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. Your expertise in claims management and problem-solving helps support both our patients and our practice.
About the Role
This is a full-time, benefitted position based at our Fairfax administrative offices. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Free on-site parking is available.

About the Role

What You’ll Do
- Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims (electronic and paper) using HDL, Waystar, and internal billing systems
- Conduct follow-up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims; submit corrected claims or appeals as needed
- Identify and investigate insurance underpayments and initiate recovery actions
- Monitor payer aging reports and prioritize resolution of outstanding claims
- Communicate directly with insurance companies and internal departments to resolve claim issues
- Track and analyze denial and payment trends; participate in monthly payer meetings
- Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior team members on payer workflows and system use
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3–4 years of experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or revenue cycle operations
- Strong knowledge of payer rules, reimbursement methodologies, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Proficiency with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding concepts
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a collaborative team environment
